Can you hear noises through cinder block and drywall?
Q. I live in a townhouse which is divided on either side by a cinder block wall. On the inside there is drywall. Every once in a while I hear a thump noise. It is fairly infrequent. We live by a busy street, and sometimes noises reflect, but this sounds like it's coming directly through the wall. Is it possible that even with cinder block I can hear my neighbor if they bump against the wall? I know if I hit my wall I hear the drywall resounding, but would that carry through?

A. yes, sound will carry thru,i have a small room that is not even attached to my home and there is even about a 4 inch space between my block wall and the wood wall of the room andif someone bumps the wall we can hear it as if someone has hit the block wall.

Who among the christian posters agrees with Pat Robertson and westboro baptists?
Q. It has been nice to see this morning that many of you are condemning the hateful things these people are spewing, but there must be some of you that give a resounding "amen" to this nonsense, isn't there?

A. Pat Robinson is an Idiot. Westboro, a shame before the God that loves us and sacrificed His Son for them. It kills me inside to think of people hurting, without necessary medical care, food water, shelter, the devastation, they are helpless, how do you see such devastation and suffering and open your mouth in a curse to it and say you are a christian? That idiot and his cronies need to sit down, shut up, repent and pray. Matt, I saw what you had to say about this in response to some other questions and believe me brother, you said it right! Who made these people the Judgement popes or police? I never support this from him or any idiot like him.

How long will it be before the AFL administrators get the game's rules right?
Q. Aussie Rules has been going for 150 years now. Now the main competition is the AFL & it's administrators make new rules. When are they going to stop tampering with the rules? Look at the recent interchange farce. There is an old adage that goes somthing along the lines of, "If it ain't broken, don't fix it!" Do you see the rugby codes dramatically changing their rules every year - even mid-year? The answer is a resounding NO.

A. As you are a Rugby League supporter, normally i wouldn't agree with anything you say, but seeing as you asked a pretty serious question, I totally agree with you. This is the kinda thing which you Rugby Leagiuns can ask 'why' although as Rugby League is celebrating it's hundreadth year, you think, their have been hardly any rules changed and with the AFL only celebrating 50 more years, this contreversial change can only meen one thing, revenge. The League committy could ruin the AFL's dream by only one click of the finger, they can just say, " No, weve decided too keep ANZ stadium" but all that woould do is stuff up the Leagues money problems, but cmon Australian football committies, THINK, long answer cut short, step up AFL.

What do you consider most when you answer a question?
Q. I personally think that both questioning and answering is an important activity. It is important for me personally, and is even more so for the person whose question I choose to answer. A few words from my side, I think, can make a great difference; they might trigger a sequence of certain events in someone s life. Answering a question affects me personally because it brings things at the top of my mind. They then resound with a high pitch as I ponder about the issue and wonder - who is the person behind the question? It becomes even more forceful when I question myself - I feel like changing inside. I also feel that this is a great fun, and a good experience of learning. It is free, and there is freedom in it!! When I answer a question I… [cont.]

A. I ask myself what kind of question and asker it is. Why did this person post this question? Is it someone looking for information that they do not know? Is the person looking for validation or self justification of himself or his beliefs? How old is this person? Is it just a dopey kid trying to be cool? Is it simply looking for different opinions? Is this a joke? Is this serious or tongue-in-cheek? Is this person really this stupid? Is he angry, bigoted, will he be able to distinguish a serious answer from a joke or sarcasm? Would a wise-crack hurt this person's feelings or does he deserve to be insulted right back? It seems just as important to know who and what you're answering as well as actually having a good answer. A. Hank, In our church we installed 'thin' carpet where just the pews were and it helped more than you think. If your church doesn`t have that much of a budget then try maybe indoor/outdoor carpet. I`m sorry I can`t tell you the cost difference but this effort works a lot. This should be a good welcomed surprise. Hoped this helped keep the 'peace'...

Are the losses for the GOP going to be resounding?
Q. Simply historic? Or just a matter of course? Wisconsin numbers are showing that the GOP is going to lose big for their anti-union policies today. They have already lost big signpost elections in California and New York. And the polls indicate that the GOP lead congress is suffering from the worst approval rating in over 4 decades. Exactly when do you think they will throw the Tea Party under the bus?

They're not even trying to build America. I hear about this rail hub in the great North, but they're counting on pumping money into a transit system, but corporations are still the benefactors! Lets be real, the government should just bail out the debt of people. Mortgages in a lesser extent, but I'm mostly saying: student loans, Credit Cards, IRS, Medical, even small Business Loans. Has your kitty ever slammed his fuzzy little head against a window or patio door?
Q. My boy cat has - in his excitement to chase down a marauding bird, trespassing cat, dog walkers, or (hisss!) a scary opossum, he has forgotten that glass is vertical barrier through which he cannot pass. The resounding "KLUNK" is sometimes quite dramatic. He wobbles, then tries to play it off nonchalantly like "Whut? Nothing to see here, move along..." No worries - he has NEVER cut himself or knocked himself out, and if it were repeated behavior, you can bet I would cat-proof the door.
Asked by Blossomo - Wed Nov 7 17:29:43 2007 - Cats - 27 Answers - Comments

A. Oh yes. And the neighbor cat loves to watch him do it. My cat sits at the sliding glass door that leads to our patio. For quite some time, I didnt want him to go outside, but one of our neighbors lets his cat roam all over. They found each other and would sit and stare at each other. One day, my cat decided he wanted to be free-so he made a dash for the door. The look on his face was only topped by the cat outside who I know was laughing, if cats can laugh. I keep the kitchen window open for him now and they both can be found sitting on the couch, staring at each other.

A. Resounding success!!! Because I met a whole bunch of people that I'm now really close with, because I got my driver's license on my first test attempt. Because I got to see one of my best friends (who I rarely see) almost twice as often this year). Because I have finally bloomed and am now the person I want to be. Because I've matured and figured out a lot of things that I wasn't sure of before. And because I think that before the clock strikes twelve on new year's eve, I'm going to figure out where me and this boy are heading - and it looks like a relationship. Eeee so excited and sooo happy!

A. 1 It shouldn't look like an afro. That being said, I don't want to feel like I'm having sex with a well-endowed 6 foot 13-year-old, either. I think it should be neatly trimmed, a good guideline for me would be a little shorter than the hair on his forearms.

Asked by - Sun Jan 31 08:45:12 2010 - Singles & Dating - 5 Answers - Comments

A. .Women, in general, aren't like that...SOME women are. As for why, you'd need to ask the individual woman. Some people are simply more modest than others...some have body image issues. Some women have no problems being naked at home, around our partner or alone, or changing in front of others. It's never been an issue for me personally. I prefer to sleep naked (esp with a partner), and I hit spots on the beach where sunbathing sans clothes is possible. Perhaps you are drawn to more closed/reserved/conservative women. Your experience is not my own re: women I've known and spoken to over the years. More were open to nudity (when appropriate) than not, and most loved sexy/racy outfits and lingerie to entice their partner.

A. I sure don't... I have 0 faith in the ability of the Republican party to get us out of the mess they got us in, by doing the same thing they have been doing. Hey Chuck P, all your stats don't matter... many more people voted for Obama, and he got far more electoral votes and that's the way our society works.. nobody cares about how many hick states Mc Cain won, or the total (non-populated) land area of these backwards hillbilly states. Educated people in urban America (which is where America is made great) voted for the Progressive. tough luck for you.
